校友會於2月18日為同學舉辦就業講座,吸引超過80位同學參加。本院邀得來六位自公關、廣告、新媒體、報業及廣播界的講者,包括縱橫公共關係顧問集團董事長曾立基先生、友邦集團助理副總裁(投資者關係)李子筠小姐、盈科拓展集團高級副總裁魯庭暉先生、陽光衛視旗下新媒體雜誌《陽光時務》視覺總監邱晨小姐、《星島日報》社會新聞總採訪主任鄭柄華先生,以及香港有線新聞有限公司新聞總監馮德雄先生,與在場同學分享求職心得和各個界別的工作前景及發展。講者都認為,同學求職時要強調自己能如何為雇主創造價值,而非自己能從工作中得到甚麼。

On February 18, the Alumni Association organized a career talk for students, and more than 80 students attended. We invited 6 speakers from the fields of public relations, advertising, new media, newspaper and broadcasting. The speakers included Chairman and Managing Director of the Strategic Public Relations Group Ltd. Mr. Richard TSANG, Assistant Vice President - Investor Relations of AIA Group Miss Feon LEE, Senior Vice President of PCG Group Mr. LO Ting Fai, Visual Director of the Chinese e-magazine iSun Affairs of iSunTV Miss QIU Chen, Chief Assignment Editor of Social News of Sing Tao Daily Mr. Joe CHENG, and News Controller of i-CABLE News Limited Mr. William FUNG. During the talk, they shared with students their job hunting experience, as well as the career prospects and developments in their fields. The speakers said that when applying for a job, it is best for students to emphasize how they can add value to the company, instead of what the job can offer them.



縱橫公共關係顧問集團董事長曾立基先生指出,同學面試公關工作時要給人成熟可靠的印象。
Mr. Richard TSANG, Chairman and Managing Director of the Strategic Public Relations Group Ltd., said that students interviewing for public relations positions should give people a mature and reliable impression.




友邦集團助理副總裁(投資者關係)李子筠小姐講解了與企業傳訊有關的工作崗位。她認為學院同學的優
勢是瞭解傳播過程,懂得從受眾角度去思考,並使用顯淺的語言向普通人傳遞訊息,但弱點是害怕數字。
Miss Feon LEE, Assistant Vice President - Investor Relations of AIA Group, talked about specific positions in corporate communication. She thought that the competitive edge of students from the School included their understanding of the process of communication, their ability to think from the perspective of audience and their ability to use layman language to disseminate messages to the general public. The major shortcoming was that students might be intimidated by numerical figures.




盈科拓展集團高級副總裁魯庭暉先生提醒有志投身廣告行業的同學,不單要從自己的能力和興趣出發,也
要考慮社會的當前需要,以及自己的工作如何在這方面作出貢獻,才不會在工作中感到迷失和厭倦。另外
,同學需要知道廣告以外的事情,包括一門生意運作的邏輯,不要一看到數字便怕,一談到賺錢便不以為
然。
Mr. LO Ting Fai, Senior Vice President of PCG Group, reminded students who were pursuing a career in advertising that they should not consider solely their own abilities and passion in their work, but also the needs of society at the moment and the contributions they could offer through their work. In this way, it would be less likely for them to get lost or get tired of their profession. Besides, students also needed to have knowledge of things beyond advertising, including business operation logics. He encouraged students not to be intimidated by numbers, nor cynical toward making money.




《陽光時務》視覺總監邱晨小姐認為,新媒體新聞工作不一定需要受過電腦或互聯網技術的專業訓練,只
要有目標,總能夠自學自做,最重要有新聞觸覺。
Miss QIU Chen, Visual Director of iSun Affairs, said that professional training in information technology was not a must for a career in the field of new media journalism. As long as there were clear goals, it is always possible to learn along the way; after all, journalism was all about news sense.




星島日報社會新聞總採訪主任鄭柄華先生笑談在面試中用怪招,要求職者在長沙灣工廠區用最快時間買到
一罐汽水,以考驗他們的反應,看他們的腦筋轉得夠不夠快,有沒有膽量去詢問陌生人。他指出,警方和
消防處改用數碼通訊後,報業界需增加人手派駐各公立醫院,每院要五名人手。另外,亦需要人手從互聯
網發掘新聞。
Mr. Joe CHENG, Chief Assignment Editor of Social News of Sing Tao Daily, talked about interesting tactics used in interviews. Once, interviewees were asked to buy a can of coke in the Cheung Sha Wan industrial area using the shortest time possible. This was to judge if the interviewees were quick-minded enough to respond and if they were brave enough to talk to strangers. He also said that after the Police and the Fire Services Department switched to digital communication, the press had to deploy journalists to each public hospital. In addition, staff was also needed for sourcing news stories on the Internet.




香港有線新聞有限公司新聞總監馮德雄先生指出,只要態度真誠、用心親切地對觀眾說話,很少人會因樣
貌而不能勝任電視記者的工作。但最重要是看那人是否想做新聞工作,還是只想出出鏡。他認為,電視新
聞也要發掘新聞,要有內容打動人。電視新聞記者既要懂得說甚麼,也要懂得怎樣說。他覺得電視新聞的
樂趣很大,而廿四小時新聞台的影響力也很大。他提醒同學,實習的經驗及對時事的認識,對求職很有幫
助。
Mr. William FUNG, News Controller of i-CABLE News Limited, said very few people were disqualified as a TV reporter by their appearance, as long as they could speak to the audience in a sincere and cordial manner. The most important thing was to see whether a person wanted to do news reporting, or whether they just wanted to appear on TV. He said that uncovering news stories and having content that moved hearts were also required in the sector of TV news. TV reporters should not only know what to say, but also how to say it. He said he took great pleasure in TV news, and 24-hour news channels had great social impact. He reminded students that internship experience and knowledge of current affairs were invaluable assets in job hunting.
