Having spent her youth in Qingdao, China, she decided to pursue her university study in Hong Kong in order to further improve her Chinese and English. She enjoys the metropolitan life in Hong Kong and finds Hong Kong people friendly and easy- going. In particular, she loves the campus of CUHK, which she finds very spacious and comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>Language has been a huge challenge for Kate. \u201cI expected the locals to speak English more than Cantonese, so I thought I wouldn\u2019t have much problem with the language.\u201d However, many of the courses in JLM are conducted in Cantonese, which limits her choices. Fortunately, she finds that the staff are very supportive and the local students are very friendly, helping her to adapt to the environment. \u201cThey are very curious about Korean culture. I am lucky to have them as my friends because they are so interested in Korea.
