Class suspension has stopped all physical class meetings but students’ motivation and commitment to do stories remain strong. Varsity students embrace this challenge and take it as an opportunity to do things differently with creativity and solution-based mindset.
I joined CUHK last September and am now running a CUHK English magazine, Varsity, with my students. I hope I can share my experience in journalism, public policy, public governance and my Tin Shui Wai experience with my students who are our future leaders.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Varsity, we invited some fellow storytellers to our “Telling Hong Kong Stories” panel discussion on April 27 to discuss the challenges and opportunities of telling local stories in English.
Varsity’s multimedia story Building a City without Walls won 1st Prize in Hong Kong Unison 香港融樂會’s News Story Video Competition on Ethnic Minority Issues.
